The Capital of Vietnamese Buddhism
Lễ hội Yên Tử is one of Vietnam’s most profound and sacred spiritual events. It centers around a pilgrimage to Yên Tử Mountain, the hallowed site where the revered King-Monk Trần Nhân Tông abdicated his throne in the 13th century to devote his life to Buddhism. He founded the Trúc Lâm Zen (Bamboo Forest Zen) tradition, the first distinctively Vietnamese school of Buddhism.
