Đồng Xanh Park (Công Viên Đồng Xanh), meaning “Green Field Park,” is a large cultural and entertainment complex situated on the outskirts of Pleiku City in the An Phú commune. This park is designed to encapsulate the essence of the Central Highlands, offering visitors a comprehensive and easily accessible view of the region’s diverse nature, history, and ethnic cultures.

Cultural Immersion and Architectural Replicas

The park beautifully showcases the rich heritage of the Gia Lai ethnic groups through authentic recreations.

  • Ethnic Village Replica: Đồng Xanh features authentic full-scale reproductions of traditional structures, including the nhà rông (communal house), nhà sàn (stilt house), and nhà dài (longhouse). These structures allow visitors to step directly into the daily life and architectural style of the Jrai and Bahnar people.

  • Ancient Artifacts: A significant highlight is the exhibit of giant fossilized trees, some dating back millions of years. These impressive geological artifacts demonstrate the immense, ancient natural history of the land, connecting the present culture to its deep past.

  • Religious Landmarks: The park also includes important cultural and spiritual replicas. For instance, visitors can see a meticulously crafted replica of Hanoi’s Chùa Một Cột (One Pillar Pagoda). A major attraction is the Đền thờ Hùng Vương (Hùng Kings Temple), which is considered the largest Hùng King shrine in the Central and Central Highlands region, symbolizing the unity of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.

Nature and Entertainment

Spanning approximately 14 hectares, the park provides a vast, green, and well-maintained environment for recreation.

  • Lush Green Space: The park’s name reflects its location amidst sprawling green rice fields. It utilizes a landscape design that blends man-made features with natural beauty, offering peaceful walking paths and photo opportunities with scenic backdrops, including small lakes and landscaped gardens.

  • Family Fun: Đồng Xanh caters to families and younger visitors. It includes a designated entertainment area with various activities and games, providing a perfect spot for children to play and for families to relax on weekends.

  • Photo Opportunities: Designers included various themed areas for photography, such as koi ponds and flower gardens, ensuring visitors have plenty of visually appealing spots for taking pictures.

Visitor Information and Accessibility

The park offers a convenient and value-packed day trip experience from Pleiku City.

  • Location and Access: Đồng Xanh Park is located in An Phú commune, about 9 kilometers from the Pleiku city center. Tourists can reach it easily by taxi or motorbike, with the ride taking approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Admission Fees: The park charges an entrance fee. The current reference price is approximately 60,000 VNĐ for adults and 40,000 VNĐ for children. These prices provide access to all the cultural and scenic areas within the complex.

  • Hours and Contact: The park typically opens from 7:00 AM to 5:15 PM. Visitors can contact the park for event inquiries or specific details at the reference phone number: (0269) 3861 461.

  • Dining Options: The park features an internal food court or restaurant area where guests can sample local Gia Lai specialties, such as cơm lam (bamboo-tube rice) and various grilled Central Highlands dishes.

Let me tell you about Park Dong Xanh – it was a real surprise! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it ended up being a delightful mix of culture, nature, and a bit of unexpected history.

The park itself is beautiful. It's nestled amongst these green rice fields just outside of Pleiku, and there's a real sense of peace walking around the grounds. They have these amazing miniature mountains and a lotus lake, which sounds cheesy, but it's actually very calming.

The highlight for me though, was definitely the traditional Central Highlands architecture. They have these stunning communal houses (nha rong) and these incredible statues replicating tombs. It gives you a real glimpse into the daily life of the ethnic minorities in the area.

One thing that totally caught me off guard was this massive fossilized tree they had on display. Apparently, it's the biggest in all of Vietnam, and it's over a million years old! It just puts everything in perspective, you know?

Overall, Park Dong Xanh is a hidden gem. It's a great place to relax, learn a bit about the local culture, and maybe even have your mind blown by a giant fossil. Just be aware, it closes a little early at 5:15 pm, so plan your visit accordingly.

It was less "green" than expected. The place has some nice spot for photos. However, it was not well-maintained.
The ticket is not expensive but the experience in general was only an ok for me
