Me Linh Coffee Garden: The Ultimate Coffee Viewpoint in Da Lat

Me Linh Coffee Garden is not simply a café; it stands as one of Da Lat’s premier countryside attractions. This popular spot combines a working coffee plantation with a spacious, open-air terrace café, delivering unparalleled 360-degree views of the surrounding hills, valleys, and the Tà Nung reservoir. Visitors flock here to experience the unique coffee culture of the Central Highlands while soaking in the majestic natural scenery.

The Story of the Coffee and the View

The garden began operations in 2010, designed to maximize the breathtaking view of the mountainous landscape. Its unique structure, often inspired by the traditional Rong houses of the K’ho people, features no walls, ensuring every guest enjoys an unobstructed panorama.

  • Weasel Coffee (Cà Phê Chồn): Me Linh is famous for its Weasel Coffee (also known as Civet Coffee or Kopi Luwak). The plantation produces this specialty coffee using beans that have passed through the digestive system of local weasels (chồn). This natural process alters the flavor, giving the coffee a distinct, smooth, and rich profile prized by enthusiasts globally. Visitors can observe the weasels and learn about the controversial yet fascinating process firsthand.

  • The Plantation: The area spans a large coffee farm where they cultivate several varieties, including Arabica, Robusta, and Moka. Guests can walk through the coffee rows and learn about the growing, harvesting, and processing stages.

Visitor Experience and Photography

The garden attracts a vast number of tourists, primarily because of its stunning setting and numerous photo opportunities.

  • Panoramic Terrace: The expansive wooden deck is the central feature. Visitors settle here to sip their drinks and marvel at the rolling green hills and the glittering water of the reservoir below.

  • “Instagrammable” Spots: The management strategically placed several eye-catching installations and small flower fields throughout the area. These include a wooden bridge and various swings, making it an essential stop for social media enthusiasts.

  • Coffee Tasting: Naturally, the main draw is the coffee. You must try the famous Weasel Coffee, though other excellent, locally grown coffee and fruit smoothies are also available.

Practical Visitor Information

  • Address: Tổ 20 thôn 4, Tà Nung, Tp. Đà Lạt, Lâm Đồng 670000, Vietnam.

This place is so huge with lots of instagramable spots for you and your loved ones to take their photos. Their weasel coffee was also spot on. And not to forget, you can have one of the most wonderful view in Dalat while enjoying your coffee.

During the day, it's dead here during the week days. I've been here at night prior as that's the typical recommended time to go to this place. At night all the lights along the walk paths are turned on which looks pretty.

This place has been here for a long time now, so many have come, seen and gone from this place.

The coffee is so-so and the first time trying weasel coffee. It's definitely not for me. 😅

We love Tom the Civet, a retired civet who has finished his pooping tasks. The views were spectacular and really made the coffee taste better.

I tried a cherry weasel coffee, and was intrigued by the flavor and the way it is processed… however, I will say I have already been spoiled by great coffee in Vietnam. While the novelty and uniqueness of weasel coffee is amazing, I had it black as I felt dunking your expensive coffee in milk and sugar just ruins the whole point, but the black weasel coffee was just that: black coffee in the end.

As a normal dude, weasel coffee was a great experience but something my plebeian tongue will not be indulging in the near or even far future.

Little bit a turists trap. Good view only. Servise was terrible. There are 20 workers and All they care about is their phone. Sandwiches are good for 60k. We bought ice cocoa with entry fee for 100k per persone and thats was Nice. That is all. Shitty place after our experience.

Me Linh Coffee Garden offers a unique and insightful glimpse into the world of coffee production. It was a genuinely nice experience to see the process firsthand, from the coffee plants to the final cup. The views from the garden are also quite lovely, providing a peaceful backdrop to the experience.

I opted for the weasel cherry coffee, drawn in by the promise of its sweetness. It was certainly an interesting and novel flavor, and I appreciate the opportunity to try such a specialized coffee. The staff was knowledgeable and happy to explain the unique process involved, which added to the overall educational aspect of the visit.

However, it's worth noting that the coffee at Me Linh is definitely on the pricier side. While the experience and the uniqueness of the weasel cherry coffee were appealing, I think it might be more of a "first-time" indulgence. It's a great place to learn and try something new, but perhaps not a regular coffee stop for those on a budget.

Overall, Me Linh Coffee Garden is a worthwhile visit for coffee enthusiasts who want to delve deeper into the origins of their favorite beverage. The experience is definitely memorable, and the weasel cherry coffee is a conversation starter. Just be prepared for the premium price tag."
