Experience Grand World Phú Quốc: The Sleepless City of Vietnam

Grand World Phú Quốc is a vast entertainment and shopping complex located within the larger Phú Quốc United Center in the north of the island. Known as “The Sleepless City” (Vietnamese: Thành phố không ngủ), it operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, offering a non-stop carnival of art, culture, and commerce. The architecture takes inspiration from grand European cities, creating a visually stunning destination for tourists.

Key Attractions and Architectural Highlights

Visitors explore Grand World across themed zones, each providing a unique visual and cultural experience.

  • Venice River (Sông Venice): This is the most iconic area, featuring a picturesque canal lined with colorful, European-style shophouses. You can take a Gondola Ride (a paid activity) along the waterway, allowing you to admire the romantic setting while listening to opera music.

  • Bamboo Legend (Huyền thoại Tre): At the entrance, you find a massive, intricate structure crafted from over 32,000 bamboo stalks. This imposing work of art symbolizes the enduring strength and spirit of Vietnam.

  • Teddy Bear Museum: This museum showcases a world-class collection of teddy bears, featuring over 500 characters and telling an adventure story inspired by Indiana Jones. The museum is an excellent spot for families and children.

  • Urban Park: This contemporary art space displays dozens of unique sculptures by Vietnamese and international artists, offering a quiet contrast to the bustling town center.

World-Class Entertainment Shows

Grand World is famed for hosting two major theatrical and water-based spectacles. While entry to the Grand World complex itself is free, these major shows require a ticket purchase.

  • The Quintessence of Vietnam (Tinh Hoa Việt Nam): This grand historical and cultural show uses hundreds of performers, elaborate costumes, 3D mapping, and a magnificent outdoor stage to depict the history and traditional Vietnamese life. It runs in the evening and is considered a must-see for its artistic scale.

  • The Colors of Venice Show (Sắc Màu Venice): This free nightly multimedia show takes place on the Lake of Love, combining light, water, and music effects in a spectacular display that lights up the Venice River area. It generally starts around 9:30 PM.

Practical Visitor Information

Plan your visit to fully enjoy both the daytime architecture and the nighttime shows.

  • Address: Grand World is located at Bãi Dài, Gành Dầu, Phú Quốc, Kiên Giang, Vietnam, in the north of the island, adjacent to VinWonders and Vinpearl Safari.

  • Entry Fee to Complex: Entering the Grand World complex is generally free (you do not need a ticket to walk the streets and view the architecture).

  • Ticketed Attractions (Reference Pricing): You must purchase tickets for the Teddy Bear Museum, the Gondola Ride, and The Quintessence of Vietnam show. Individual ticket prices generally start from approximately 150,000 VND to 300,000 VND per attraction for adults. Combo tickets are frequently available.

  • Operating Hours: The Grand World complex is open 24/7. Specific attractions have different operating hours (e.g., Teddy Bear Museum usually 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Gondola rides operate during specific daytime and early evening windows).

  • Transportation: The complex offers a free VinBus shuttle service connecting various points in Phú Quốc to the Grand World and United Center area. Look for the VinBus schedule for pick-up locations.

We have been here two days and its been wonderful, relaxing. We seem to have beaten the crowds each morning. We're early risers and have taken wonderful long walks up Long Beach. The whole place seems to come alive after 2pm, so if you're after less crowds and friendly locals I highly recommend the trip.

It's such a happening place. I was as if transported to another world. The chilled Venice vibes, the gondola ride, the massages, the nail arts, interacting with the locals, just sauntering around, watching the show at 9.30 pm...... everything was enjoyable. The Bamboo Legend is an important landmark of the place. It represents the country's culture. The flower park next to it is also worth visiting. Every frame is click worthy. Tou just cannot get a bad background for your photos.

It was like mini Venice and boat ride was very pleasant. There are all kind of shops and aquarium and bear museum is a must. Outside the bamboo legend and nearby park was the best way to finish the day at sunset.

An entertainment cum shopping complex development comprises a replica of Venetian buildings & business streets, a man-made canal with plying gondolas, a garden of modern sculptures, a bamboo architecture, a Teddy Bear Museum and a Vietnamese Cultural Village. Definitely a good place to take pictures and indulge in a Sub-Mediterranean atmosphere. There are many restaurants and bars around apart from numerous massage parlours luring passers-by which maybe annoying to some. There is a free shuttle service within this area of roughly 2km in radius every 30 minutes and there are also private shuttles for charter at a price including photo taking service. Great for a relaxing short trip.
