Golden Valley (Thung Lũng Vàng): Da Lat’s Sculpted Landscape

The Golden Valley (Thung Lũng Vàng) is a spacious ecological and art tourism park nestled within the premises of the Da Lat water treatment plant, approximately 15 kilometers northwest of the city center. This destination offers a tranquil escape, featuring a harmonious blend of pristine nature and meticulously sculpted landscapes. Visitors value the cool, refreshing atmosphere and the sheer scale of the park, which makes it perfect for a half-day or full-day excursion.

History and Development

The park began modestly in 1999 as a small relaxation garden for the employees of the Lam Dong Water Supply Company. Through creative development and expansion, the area officially opened as the Golden Valley Tourist Area in 2005. Its current layout showcases intentional landscape artistry, transforming former wild land into a highly photogenic leisure space.

Must-See Attractions and Natural Features

Golden Valley captivates visitors with its diverse scenery, combining dense pine forests with artistic garden arrangements.

  • Đan Kia – Suối Vàng Lake: This massive reservoir dominates the landscape. The lake provides a serene backdrop for picnics and photography, surrounded by rolling hills and pine forests. The famous Lonely Pine Tree, a popular check-in spot, stands on a nearby hill, overlooking the tranquil water.

  • Artistic Gardens: Skilled artisans designed several unique garden areas within the park. You can explore the ancient rose garden, the old plum blossom garden, and a collection of unique bonsai trees. These creatively arranged gardens make for beautiful walking paths.

  • Pink Grass Hill: During the late autumn and early winter (around October and November), the park features a captivating field of pink grass, known locally as Cỏ Hồng. This seasonal display draws photographers seeking the dreamy, colorful landscape.

Activities and Visitor Experience

Golden Valley provides opportunities for both quiet contemplation and active leisure.

  • Walking and Photography: Visitors enjoy strolling along the long, shaded paths beneath the towering pine trees. The diverse scenery offers endless picturesque spots for capturing memories.

  • Camping and Team Building: The vast open space and scenic lake setting makes the valley an excellent location for organizing outdoor team building activities and overnight camping trips.

  • Gong Culture Experience: The park sometimes hosts cultural exchanges, allowing visitors to experience the traditional Gong Culture of the Central Highlands ethnic groups, though you should check the schedule in advance.

I love this place. It’s so peaceful and relaxing.
However, the room is not clean properly and the WiFi is very slow. But if you’re looking for a place to disconnect and connect with the nature this is the best place.

Cute little space, the staff are all very friendly and the amenities in the main bit is very well maintained. You can do archery 50k a go, for go. There are swan boats and lots photo corners. There was a nice trail from the car park up the mountain but we didn't know where it went afterwards.

Nice park to roam around but a little bit pricey for what it is. With the weather being nice it was a good day to start the day and because it is pretty far away there were not so many tourists. Love holding the bird it was worth the $10k VND. If you don’t have a lot of time in Dalat this should not be on your list of places to go.
