Khu Du Lịch Mùa Xuân: Escape to Hậu Giang’s Tranquil Eco-Park

Khu Du Lịch Mùa Xuân (Mùa Xuân Tourist Area) invites visitors to immerse themselves in the peaceful, green environment of Hậu Giang Province. This expansive ecotourism destination is set on a vast plot of land, offering a quintessential Mekong Delta landscape characterized by lush cajuput forests, intricate canal systems, and rich biodiversity. It serves as an ideal getaway for travelers seeking natural beauty, tranquility, and cultural experiences.

Address: Khu Du Lịch Mùa Xuân, 236 Hoàng Hoa Thám, Tân Phước Hưng, Phụng Hiệp, Hậu Giang, Vietnam.

I. Nature, Ecology, and Scenery

The park distinguishes itself through its commitment to natural conservation and ecological preservation. It offers a rare chance to explore the region’s wetland ecosystem.

  • Cajuput Forest Exploration: The core experience involves navigating the dense cajuput (rừng tràm) forest. Visitors travel on traditional small motorboats (vỏ lãi) through the winding canals, allowing them to observe the local flora and fauna up close.

  • Bird Sanctuary: Mùa Xuân acts as a habitat for numerous bird species. The area features a large bird garden and a 12-meter high observation tower, providing excellent vantage points to watch storks and other wild birds in their natural environment. This makes it a prime spot for nature photography.

  • Seasonal Beauty: The dry season (December to April) provides ideal weather for outdoor exploration and clear views. Conversely, the rainy season (May to November) allows guests to enjoy the abundance of fresh, sweet fruits in the park’s orchards.

II. Activities and Cultural Immersion

The area seamlessly blends ecological exploration with fun activities and cultural appreciation.

  • Recreational Activities: Guests actively participate in various light adventure activities. They can explore the premises by electric car or bicycle along the forest paths, or they can enjoy simple pleasures like fishing in the canals. The park also hosts traditional folk games, creating engaging fun for families.

  • Authentic Mekong Culture: Mùa Xuân offers unique cultural showcases. Visitors often experience Đờn Ca Tài Tử (Southern Vietnamese Amateur Music), immersing themselves in the sentimental melodies of the region. They also have opportunities to try on traditional attire like the áo bà ba (Ao Ba Ba).

  • Local Cuisine: The riverside restaurant specializes in regional delicacies, allowing guests to savor authentic Hậu Giang dishes while enjoying the tranquil scenery. The focus remains on fresh, local ingredients.

III. Essential Visitor Information

Mùa Xuân Tourist Area is conveniently located near National Highway 1A, making it accessible from Cần Thơ City (approximately 20-30 km away).

  • Operating Hours (Giờ mở cửa): The park typically opens daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. However, checking ahead on holidays is always advisable.

  • Entrance Fee (Giá vé vào cổng): Visitors should expect a small entrance fee to access the area. The cost for specific activities, such as boat rentals for the cajuput forest or guided tours, requires separate payment, often negotiated directly with providers or included in package tours.

  • Contact Information (Số điện thoại): For general inquiries or tour bookings, visitors can contact the Hậu Giang Tourism Promotion Center.

    • Hotline: 02936 270 097 or 0979 848 646.

  • Travel Tip: Consider booking a tour package if you wish to experience the bird sanctuary and boat rides, as this often simplifies logistics and pricing. Bring insect repellent and wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking and boating.

I love this place, been 2nd time in a few month. "Nature Pure", absolutely peaceful, lots of Wildlife-Birds and super clean, and I mean, no plastic bottles or bags, no cans, just spotless. If you in Can Tho or Soc Trang, try to make the trip there, you will enjoy it.

Today, 20th August 2025, been visiting the 4th time and still loving every minute of it. Nothing has changed, nothing to add to the above. Just come end enjoy it if you can

Entrance is 200k and includes motored boat into the wetlands. This reserve is 45 mins from the city center.

There's king fishers, comerants, a variety of storks, and many other birds I don't know the name for. Best time to visit is before 8am and around 5pm. There's a restaurant located where the boats are. I didn't eat, as I had only just had lunch at a local fruit farm along the way.

The nature and tranquility is beautiful and since I visited during a week day, I more or less had the place to my self. The boat will stop at a small area further in the wetlands where you can get out and look at the rice fields and grab a drink. The drink seller is a friendly grandma who makes the most delicious banana chips ever! She generously shared her recipe and techniques. So crunchy, hint of ginger and slightly sweet. I bought 3 bags for my family to try back in Saigon.

The area is over 130 hectares and protected by the government from development.
