Mũi Nai Beach: Ha Tiên's Scenic Coastal Escape

Mũi Nai Beach (Bãi tắm Mũi Nai) is located in Hà Tiên City, Kiên Giang Province, presenting a tranquil escape for travelers seeking both relaxation and unique adventures. Unlike the white sand beaches found elsewhere, Mũi Nai is famous for its distinct golden-brown sand, which locals say is rich in beneficial minerals. The name Mũi Nai (Deer Cape) comes from a local legend where a small deer, exhausted from a long journey, collapsed at the cape, forever leaving its mark on the landscape. You can even see a distant mountain that resembles a deer bowing its head to drink water.

Things to See and Do

Mũi Nai offers a diverse range of activities, appealing to sunbathers, adventurers, and food lovers alike. Its sheltered location in the Gulf of Thailand ensures calm waves, making the water safe for swimming.

  • Swimming at Bai Bang and Bai Nô: The beach is divided into two main swimming areas. Bai Bang features smooth, gently sloping sands and is perfect for relaxing swims. Bai Nô (Beach Nô), situated next to a peaceful fishing village, allows you to observe the daily life of local fishermen while taking a quiet stroll.

  • Tà Pang Mountain Alpine Coaster: For an exhilarating experience, ride the alpine coaster on Tà Pang Mountain. This unique attraction, imported from Germany, takes you on a thrilling, scenic track, providing spectacular panoramic views of the Hà Tiên coastline and the surrounding Gulf of Thailand.

  • Vọng Cảnh Pavilion: Hike up the small mountain peak near the beach, or take the alpine coaster up, to reach the Vọng Cảnh Pavilion. From here, you enjoy a stunning viewpoint, especially captivating during the dramatic sunsets.

Local Experience and Food

The area surrounding Mũi Nai is rich in local life and flavor. You find a variety of fresh seafood restaurants lined up along the beach and nearby the tourist area entrance. They serve freshly grilled oysters, steamed crabs, and other local seafood delicacies. Visiting the nearby local market gives you a glimpse into the local lifestyle and offers opportunities to buy souvenirs.

Practical Visitor Information

Planning your trip is straightforward, as Mũi Nai is easily accessible.

  • Address: You can find Mũi Nai at Đường Pháo Đài, Hà Tiên, Kiên Giang, Vietnam. It is located only about 5 kilometers from the center of Hà Tiên City.

  • Operating Hours: The beach and its general amenities are accessible all day. However, specific tourist services, such as the Tà Pang Mountain alpine coaster, operate on set hours, usually from morning until late afternoon. It is always advisable to check local operating times upon arrival.

  • Admission Fee: While Mũi Nai is a public beach, the Mũi Nai Tourist Area sometimes charges a small entrance fee to enter the main compound, particularly on busy weekends or holidays. The fee is typically minimal and covers basic services. Separate fees apply for the alpine coaster ride.

  • Safety and Amenities: Lifeguards patrol the main swimming areas. The area provides freshwater shower facilities and places to rent chairs and umbrellas.

The beach charges an entrance fee of 30k VND per person, which was a bit surprising since I initially thought it was a public beach. Overall, it’s decent. They offer activities like jet skiing and kayaking, which add to the experience. The water isn’t very clear, but still acceptable. The only downside is the presence of jellyfish they can cause some itching or a stinging sensation when you’re in the water. Just something to be aware of if you plan to swim

Small beach, paying entry, not very clean (sand not clean but water is clear). Nice place for sunset. A few jet skis for the sound ambiance.

It is a nice beach in Ha Tien, Kieng Giang province.
You can go to there in Oct to April next year because the water was clean and had waves.
The seafoods were not too expensive, but you should ask the price first.
Around the beach has many kinds of guesthouse, but it were not clean, so make sure you stay comfortable I recommend you booking online via agoda to choose the best hotel or guesthouse you will stay.
