Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc: The Ultimate Wildlife Encounter

Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc operates as Vietnam’s first and largest semi-wildlife care and conservation park. Spanning approximately 380 hectares on the northern tip of Phú Quốc Island, this park provides a home for over 3,000 animals representing 150 rare and endangered species from around the globe. Unlike a traditional zoo, Vinpearl Safari actively focuses on conservation, education, and animal welfare, earning it recognition from the Southeast Asian Zoos Association (SEAZA).

Park Layout and Unique Experiences

The park divides into two distinct zones, both offering unique ways to interact with the animal kingdom:

  1. Safari Park (Semi-Wild Zone): This area operates on the unique “caged humans, free animals” model. Visitors board specialized, secure safari buses that transport them through vast, open habitats. During the 30-45 minute tour, you will see animals like African lions, Bengal tigers, rhinoceroses, and zebras roam freely just outside the bus windows. This setup allows you to observe their natural behaviors without disturbing them.

  2. Open Zoo (Foot Safari): This zone lets guests walk along designated paths to view animals in large, meticulously designed enclosures that mimic their native environments. The Open Zoo is home to primates, various birds, reptiles, and antelopes. Here, you must not miss the chance to interact directly with the friendly giraffes at the Giraffe Restaurant (for a small feeding fee) or visit the KidZoo, specifically designed for young children to safely meet and pet smaller animals.

Shows, Performances, and Dining

The Safari experience is enhanced by daily performances and unique dining options. You should check the schedule upon arrival, since times often change.

  • Animal Shows: Talented animals and their trainers perform educational and entertaining shows at the performance stage. These shows run both in the morning (around 10:00 AM) and in the afternoon.

  • Zulu Dance: African performers showcase a vibrant traditional Zulu dance near the main entrance, adding a memorable cultural element to your visit.

  • Dining: The park features several themed restaurants, including the Flamingo and Rhino Restaurants, but the Giraffe Restaurant offers the most unique experience by allowing you to dine while feeding the gentle giants from a raised platform.

Practical Visitor Information

Planning ahead helps ensure a smooth and fun day at the Safari.

  • Address: Bãi Dài, Gành Dầu, Phú Quốc, Kiên Giang 922200, Vietnam.

  • Operating Hours: Vinpearl Safari generally operates daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (16:00). The Safari Park bus last departs around 3:20 PM.

  • Ticket Prices (Reference): A standard one-day ticket for an adult (over 140 cm) costs approximately 750,000 VND. Children (100–140 cm) and seniors (over 60) pay around 560,000 VND. You can purchase combined tickets with VinWonders for better value.

  • Getting There: VinBus provides a convenient and complimentary shuttle bus service that runs from Duong Dong Town and other major Vinpearl resorts directly to the Safari entrance. This is the recommended mode of transport.

Run and get the ticket!!!
This is definitely a must-do in Phu Quoc! I booked the combo ticket (entrance + zoo tram + F&B) through Klook.

Let’s start with the staff- everyone was amazing and super friendly! They were so helpful and really went above and beyond. Some staff don’t speak much English, so learning a few Vietnamese phrases or using Google Translate will definitely make your visit smoother.

When we took the bus to see the lions, zebras, and other animals, one of the staff asked me to do a quick web review (I think it’s only in Vietnamese, not 100% sure), and I got a food coupon for the elephants in return. We had so much fun feeding them!

The place was super clean and enjoyable! We had such a great time exploring all the different areas of the zoo. However, the food at the Giraffe Restaurant was a bit meh, it was dry and not served hot, so I wasn’t a big fan. But honestly, the amazing view of the giraffes kind of made up for it!

There are multiple buses to get you to the zoo and it is for free so TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT :)

Great place to bring children and family. We came here as a couple so we went through it pretty quickly but if you take your time you could spend a whole day here. Admission is about USD23 per person which is pretty affordable. If there are lots of people I suggest using the VIP buggy which you have to pay more but worth it if you want to skip the queue!

Nice safari and zoo. A bit smaller than I expected. The restaurants are fairly priced but the souvenirs are a bit pricey. The animals are diverse and look healthy. The care takers are all around the place and you see the hardwork they put in for the welfare of the animals and the visitors. The line to the safari bus was a bit long compared to the amount of people. But mostly a good experience.

It’s a great zoo for families, kids, and solo travelers. I’d recommend going early in the morning to avoid the heat. you can pay and take buggy to go around if you are not used to walk. There’s a wide variety of species. The highlight was definitely the AC safari bus drive through, were we will be taken close to giraffes, tigers, deer, zebras, lions, and even rhinos was incredible.Enjoyed the animal show and African dance performance. My favorite is giraffe feeding🤩 and chilled out at giraffe restaurant.

A Wonderful Day with Nature and Wildlife!

Our visit to the zoo was an incredibly enjoyable and educational experience for the whole family. From the moment we entered, the layout was easy to navigate, with clear signs and maps to guide us. The grounds were clean, well-maintained, and stroller-friendly, which made it very convenient for families with young children.

The variety of animals was impressive — from majestic lions and playful elephants to exotic birds and fascinating reptiles. Each enclosure was spacious and designed to mimic the animals' natural habitats, which showed how much the zoo prioritizes animal welfare. Informative boards near each exhibit helped us learn about the species, their behavior, and conservation efforts.

The highlight of our trip was the interactive feeding session with the giraffes — an unforgettable experience! The staff and volunteers were knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to answer questions or offer insights about the animals.

The zoo also had shaded rest areas, a kid’s play zone, and plenty of food stalls offering snacks and refreshments at reasonable prices. We spent nearly the entire day there and still felt like we could return for more.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a day close to nature while learning about the importance of wildlife conservation. We'll definitely be back!
